I Wanna Be Loved By You – Marilyn Monroe
About the song
I Wanna Be Loved by You was written by Herbert Stothart, Harry Ruby and Bert Kalmar in 1928. Helen Kane sang it first, and her “boop-boop-a-doop” inspired the cartoon character Betty Boop. Marilyn Monroe made it world famous in Some Like It Hot (1959). A swinging bass in the old jazz style.
My Notes:
It’s older than you think. This song was written in 1928 for the musical Good Boy.
One of Marilyn Monroe’s most famous musical performances is her singing the song in Billy Wilder’s classic farce Some Like It Hot.
So let’s try it on bass.
Try to find the groove, play the notes clean. At 2:11 in the song the solo is nice to play. It doubles up the notes and plays his own groove.
Grab your bass and play along! Have Fun!
Sidenote:
I try to find recognizable easy to play songs for Bass on Rocksmith 2014. I don’t do extra practice for recording, so there will be mistakes. I changed the setup so the G string (orange) is on top and the E string is at the bottom, because I played TABS for guitar before. All songs are in the key of E standard. I like to thank all the creators of the custom DLC’s.
